Premiums are financed by additional charges to companies producing less-than-average safety and health results.
The targets of the bonus system are to

- promote the implementation of best practice solutions
- meet the demands of insured companies
- increase employers motivation to invest in occupational safety
Premiums are paid for

- Investments in progressive safety measures, e.g.:
- Installation of camera systems to improve the back space view
- Introducing a general eye protector obligation in production departments
- Investments into systems for the electronic borehole measurement Installation of camera systems to improve the back space view

- Investments in progressive measures for improving health conditions, e.g.:
- Active noise protection (e.g. re-equipment of a concrete block manufacturer on low-noise compression systems)
- Ergonomic organization of jobs (e.g. height adjustable workbenches)
- Procurement of well visible clothes
- Organisation and execution of health programs
- Extraordinary good results in preventing accidents
- Relevant are accident free times according to the number of employees
- Only accidents count, which lead to an inability to work of more than three days
- Investments in the implementation of Best-practice-solutions, e.g.:
- Stair entrances for earth-moving machines
- New tools for low-noise treatment of natural stones
- New "escape-chute" for the rescue from containers and silos
- Secure assembly of greater wheels at construction machines
Within the first two years of availibility (2005 and 2006), 1,300
entries have been registred which led to a payment of approx. 2.6
million Euros.
